Honoring Our 2026 FWPS Retirees and Opportunity Makers

We are proud to honor the incredible group of Federal Way Public Schools employees who are retiring at the end of this school year. Your service, leadership, and heart have made a lasting difference in the lives of our scholars, families, and community.

This year’s celebration was filled with joy and appreciation, featuring a heartwarming opening performance by our Sherwood Forest Pre-School students, followed by wonderful live music from the Decatur High School Jazz Band and Jazz Choir. Collectively, the FWPS staff retiring in 2026 have invested an incredible 1,159 years of service in support of our scholars.

Among this year’s retirees are teachers, paraeducators, transportation staff, student support professionals, office and administrative staff, nutrition services teams, operations and business support teams, and district leaders. You represent the many roles that make FWPS a place where each scholar thrives.

As Superintendent Dr. Dani Pfeiffer shared during the event, our 2026 retirees have truly been opportunity makers supporting and championing our students, nurturing their unique paths, and paving the way for each scholar to realize a dream, a voice, and a bright future.

Because of your care, mentorship, and unwavering commitment, thousands of students have confidently walked across the graduation stage, ready to embrace the next exciting chapter of their journeys. We are deeply grateful for all you’ve given to our district.

We wish you a fulfilling, healthy, and joyful retirement!
